Find Your Dream Job
Career Coaching Boot Camp 2010

Saturday 16th January 2010
The rain, cold and major engineering works on several tube lines made it the perfect day to hold a Find Your Dream Job Boot Camp. We had a full house at Charterhouse Square and feedback suggested that the day was a tremendous success. We were certainly thrilled by the attendance and calibre of our speakers. Just a reminder who they were:-

"I bought your book and I am half way through it and feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my soul - because I don't feel as though I am the problem or the one with the problem now! Thank you so much for writing your book - I honestly feel more alive, inspired and motivated than I have in ages!" Sandi, Jan 2010

Remember, finding a new and rewarding job or thinking about starting your own business is a big step so be prepared for the following:

  • It always takes longer than you think - so don't expect overnight results, be patient but keep focused.
  • Get clarity before you start on what it is you really want.  Maybe you have already had experience of what it is you   want to do next in your past but haven't ever thought it could become a career.
  • Be prepared to try on new experiences, hobbies and interests.
  • It helps to create a community or join one which reflects the interests you have.
  • Get a buddy, colleague or a coach to support you throughout the process to keep you motivated, inspired and accountable.
  • Don't rule things out.  People create employment or businesses out of the most curious things.
  • Talk to people who are already doing what you are doing to get a clear idea whether it's for you.
  • Be sure you goal is compelling.  There's no point aiming for something you are indifferent about.
  • Don't worry about what other people think or pleasing others.  We come this way but once.  This is YOUR journey.
  • Never give up and keep on keeping on. It is hard and we do lose heart but you are more likely to get to your dream job if you have one in mind and are taking steps to get to it, than not bothering at all.

Good luck
Carole Ann

"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work, and the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking, and don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it." Steve Jobs, Apple.

"The whole point of being clever, dynamic and motivated is that you get a job you enjoy so that you enjoy your whole life - so that life doesn't start at 6 o'clock in the evening."
Victoria Wood, comedienne.
